Salad with chickpeas tasty and healthy not only for dinner

Salad with chickpeas

  • 2 cans of chickpeas
  • 1 small onion chopped into cubes
  • 1 medium potato diced
  • 1 chili serrano
  • a handful of fresh coriander
  • 2 teaspoons of Chaat Masala or Channa Chaat spice mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/4 cup of tamarind sauce
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • salt

A method of preparing:

Put the chickpeas, onions, tomatoes, boiled potatoes and green chilies in the bowl and then mix

Sprinkle with Chaat Masala or Channa Chaat, toss ingredients so that they stick to the spices

To prepare tamarind sauce: tamarind paste mix with sugar and a glass of water in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Cook for 10 – 12 minutes until the pulp is at the bottom. Drain the tamarind liquid into the bowl. Press the pulp with a teaspoon so that you can extract as much juice as possible

We throw out the tamarind pulp, pour the liquid back into the pan and cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce is very smooth

Remove the sauce from the fire and let it thicken. Pour the chilled sauce into the chickpeas salad and mix. Finally, decorate the salad with chopped coriander leaves
